They also spend time talking about the film's main villain, Leatherface, who became the paradigm for many horror film villains such as Jason Vorhees and Michael Myers. Dave, Devan, Michael, and Ryan head over to a genetics lab to create a deadly, and horny, human-animal hybrid and discuss one of the more bizarre mainstream films in sci-fi horror, "Splice," directed by Vincenzo Natali and starring Adrien Brody and Sarah Polley. The crew take some time to talk about the solid acting and production values of the film, but spend a larger portion of the discussion exploring the many shocking and disturbing aspects of this polarizing cult film. They chat about their favorite scenes, what worked and didn't work, and share their thoughts on the wild and outrageous final act. Dave, Devan, Michael, and Ryan head out to Anytown, U.S.A., drink some toxic water and become homicidal maniacs while discussing "The Crazies," both the 1973 original, directed by George A. Romero, and the 2010 remake, directed by Breck Eisner. The crew spend the first part of the episode talking about Romero's original film, and what worked but ultimately the many ways it fell short. They then shift to the the remake and how it improved in basically every way from the first, from the acting, to the production values, and the constant tension and sense of dread throughout the runtime. S, Anderson's 1997 sci-fi horror film, "Event Horizon." The crew explore all aspects of the cult classic thriller, from the terrific cast, the haunting sound design, intense visuals, and great musical score.
