Episode 8: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Dave, Devan, Michael and Ryan walk into a creepy, mysterious home in the middle of nowhere, filled with human remains, and discuss one of the most iconic horror films of all time, the 1974 classic "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre," directed by Tobe Hooper  The crew discuss just how influential this film has been to the horror genre, from its recognizable narrative structure, classic scenes, and archetypal characters, which all helped establish numerous tropes that have appeared in countless horror films over the last 50 years.  They also spend time talking about the film's main villain, Leatherface, who became the paradigm for many horror film villains such as Jason Vorhees and Michael Myers.  We hope you enjoy this conversation about what is widely considered one of the greatest horror films ever made.  As always, thank you for your support!  Sleep tight!   

Episode 7: Splice

Dave, Devan, Michael, and Ryan head over to a genetics lab to create a deadly, and horny, human-animal hybrid and discuss one of the more bizarre mainstream films in sci-fi horror, "Splice," directed by Vincenzo Natali and starring Adrien Brody and Sarah Polley.  The crew take some time to talk about the solid acting and production values of the film, but spend a larger portion of the discussion exploring the many shocking and disturbing aspects of this polarizing cult film.  They chat about their favorite scenes, what worked and didn't work, and share their thoughts on the wild and outrageous final act.  We had a great time discussing this film and hope you enjoy the conversation.  Thank you as always for listening!  Stay scared! 

Episode 6: The Crazies (1973 Original and 2010 Remake)

Dave, Devan, Michael, and Ryan head out to Anytown, U.S.A., drink some toxic water and become homicidal maniacs while discussing "The Crazies," both the 1973 original, directed by George A. Romero, and the 2010 remake, directed by Breck Eisner.  The crew spend the first part of the episode talking about Romero's original film, and what worked but ultimately the many ways it fell short.  They then shift to the the remake and how it improved in basically every way from the first, from the acting, to the production values, and the constant tension and sense of dread throughout the runtime.  They also discuss their many favorite scenes and the characters that stuck out most to them.  We hope you enjoy this episode!  Thank you as always for listening.  Sleep tight!

Episode 5: Event Horizon

Dave, Devan, Michael, and Ryan hop aboard the cleverly named Lewis & Clark to go investigate a family-friendly sadomasochistic orgy aboard a derelict spaceship while discussing Paul W. S, Anderson's 1997 sci-fi horror film, "Event Horizon."  The crew explore all aspects of the cult classic thriller, from the terrific cast, the haunting sound design, intense visuals, and great musical score.  They also examine some of the significant amount of lost and damaged footage that has somewhat of a cult following all by itself.  Thank you once again for listening and for your continued support.  Sleep tight!

Episode 4: The Outwaters

Dave, Devan and Ryan head out to the desert to shoot a music video, but instead get thrust into another dimension where they discuss the 2022 found-footage horror film, "The Outwaters."  The guys talk extensively about their conflicting feelings about this divisive, confounding, but also intriguing movie.  They look at the ambitious ideas permeating the film, the terrific sound design, but also the frustrating directorial style which may mar the viewing experience for the audience.  Thanks again for listening!  Sleep tight!

Dave, Michael, and Ryan head into a portal to another dimension to grab some brewskis with H.P.
